About the artist
I have always been fascinated with light in a painting....the way it reflects, shimmers and moves, the intense moods that it has the ability to create. Light forms the basis of everything around us. In Genesis 1, we read...
"In the beginning...the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep...Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light. God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness."
Light is literally the essence of every thing our eyes can behold in this world and it is truly breathtaking in God's creation. After God created us, He sent us the "Light of the World", Jesus Christ, and with gratitude, we reflect Christ's light into the world.
In a small way, I would like to do that with my art. I am a self-taught artist and my first love is God, my husband and my three children. In my spare time, I paint watercolor art, portraits, acrylic canvas art and murals. I like to dedicate a portion of my time to donating memory portraits to families that have lost children, and donating murals to sick children and hospitals. My watercolors are displayed in private and public collections all around New England and NC.
I am also a self-taught illustrator. I Love You, Be Careful by Judy Snider and Joan Dickow is my latest published children's book and it is currently for sale on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I just finished illustrating The Gift by Bridget Knouse and this book is due out in May of 2012!
I teach art classes from my home studio during different times of the year. Please contact me if you are interested.
