I started my art career painting murals and teaching decorative Tole painting with acrylics. Back then, in between having my babies, I painted murals in hospitals, doctors' offices, private residences, and businesses in both New England and North Carolina.
In 2009, my wonderful husband bought me my first watercolor set for Christmas and it was love at first sight! Between homeschooling my three kids, running them around to their different events and juggling my business, who has time for training? I can teach myself! I begged, bought, and borrowed books on watercolors with a determination to master them! I did finally break down and take a few classes from the amazing Pam Shank and JJ Jiang, which helped me tremendously. In 2010, I started teaching watercolors, illustrated my first children's book, had my first (tiny) showing and sale in Gallery C in Raleigh, NC. In 2016, my husband and I were blessed with another son. This time, from China! Lian, our little Downy duckling, joined our family and has finally found his forever home. My passion with my work is to raise money for adoption and adopting families. My work has sold internationally and I currently teach group and private watercolor lessons from my home studio in Raleigh, NC. Please visit my classes page for more information.
I pray that my artwork may point you, the viewer, back to God, His amazing creation and His abundant love for us.
