Private lessons are available on weekends, weekdays or weeknights. In a private lesson, I will meet you at your skill level, have a project prepared for you to challenge your current watercolor skills, and give you individualized, targeted instruction to help you improve and succeed with watercolors. If there is a specific project or painting that you'd like to work on, we can do that as well.
Instruction for beginner and intermediate watercolorists, ink artists, and colored pencil artists. Private lessons are available - $50 per 2 hour session*. WHERE: 5128 Glen Creek Trail Garner, NC 27529 For private lessons, please pay for your class no less than one week before the scheduled class. You may pay with cash, check or through Square (below). The supply list is at the bottom of the page. If you need to use my supplies in class, it's an extra $10 per class *If you happen to miss your class and would like to reschedule, there is a $25 rescheduling fee. Classes are non-refundable.
Two Hour Private Watercolor Lesson
$50.00 ($60, if you do not have your own supplies)
1. BRUSHES: Watercolor brushes - make sure that the round brushes have nice pointy tips on them. The Polar Flo brand is a reasonable brand to purchase. Flat 1" brush Round # 10 Round #3 Round #8
The brushes are all approx. sizes, so if you find or have something slightly larger or smaller, it's all right. The picture on the top left should help. 2. REMOVABLE MASKING FLUID - Winsor & Newton brand 3. PAPER - Arches 140lb. cold press paper loose 22x30 sheets (you only need to purchase one) Or Fabriano Artistico 140 lb. cold press, which is the more affordable brand and just as good. 4. GATOR BOARD & white masking tape 5. COVERED PAINT PALETTE (I like the covered Sterling Edwards brand) 6. PAINT COLORS Winsor & Newton or Daniel Smith Hooker's Green, Viridian Green, Van Dyke brown, Indian Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Permanent Alizarin Crimson, French Ultramarine blue, Payne's Gray (Windsor & Newton brand only for this color, please), Prussian blue or Cerulean blue (either one), Ultramarine Violet, Opera Rose. ***You DO NOT NEED to purchase every color if you are just beginning. Get what you can afford and build up your colors gradually.*** You can get all of these things at Jerry's Artarama in Raleigh on Wake Forest Rd. behind the new Trader Joe's. If you need help, please ask for the manager, Tom, to help you and mention that you are taking Cady Driver's art classes or ask for the list of supplies for my class from the Jerry's staff. They are very nice and will help you get the things that you need.
